Unlike most glaciers in the world, the Perito Moreno is “in equilibrium”. Enough snow falls in the Southern Patagonia Icefield (which Wikipedia says is the world’s 3rd largest reserve of freshwater) to allow the glacier to gain ice at the same rate it loses it at the terminus.
